How to remove text formatting in word 2007 document


When you are creating a document, if you want it to look professional, you need to have the text formatted in a uniform manner. Having different text formatting throughout a document just looks terrible. See the screenshot below. There are a few different formats of test here and it just looks messy. This happened because I actually copied the text from different documents. One was formatted with Times Roman text and the other had Tahoma.

How to remove text formatting in Word 2007?

  1. Select the text that you want to removing the formatting on.
  2. Go to the Home ribbon at the top menu.
  3. You will see the styles available. Press the drop down menu arrow. See the screenshot below.

  1. A menu will appear. Choose to Clear Formatting.

Here’s the results after clearing the text formatting. The text has been changed to the normal default text for the document. Now it is free for me to edit further to suit the rest of the document.

Keyboard shortcut to remove text formatting in Word 2003 and Word 2007.

Press CTRL SHIFT Z to remove all formatting from the text you have selected.
